Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, and don’t put up with people that are reckless with yours.

One of the most amazing things that can happen is finding someone who sees everything you are and won’t let you be anything less. They see the potential of you. They see endless possibilities. And through their eyes, you start to see yourself the same way. As someone who matters. As someone who can make a difference in this world.

There was a point in my life where I saw that what I ate could have a major impact on my consciousness, on my health and how I felt about myself, and on the world around me. It has been a joy to learn how many times the foods that are healthiest for the human body are also the healthiest for our environment and create the least suffering for other creatures. It affirms for me that nature can be trusted, and that we can yet learn to live in peace and harmony with the rest of the living Earth community.

Too many young girls don’t know how to act when someone’s being inappropriate with them. They giggle or they try to brush it off. Don’t do that. Tell them to go fuck themselves - be a bitch. If someone’s being disrespectful to you, be disrespectful right back. Show them the same amount of respect that they show you.

When we study Buddhism, we are studying ourselves — the nature of our own minds. Instead of focusing on some supreme being, Buddhism emphasizes more practical matters, such as how to lead our lives, how to integrate our minds and how to keep our everyday lives peaceful and healthy.
